Description
My name is Christine Mungai, I was born and raised in Kenya and later moved to the US in 2017; eventually residing in Kansas City. I am currently a licensed practical nurse working in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. One of my hobbies is modeling and I have graced a few runways modeling for small brands from 2019 mostly in the Midwest. I work with the Youth Forum Foundation in Kansas which focuses on educating and informing the youth about drugs and alcohol. This allows the youth to have a voice in the society with the forums and also welcome the parents and provide a safe space open for discussion.
I am passionate about mental health with a focus on mental care towards the caregiver. This was brought about by my personal journey of having a family member directly affected, and it is taking a toll on the family. This made me realize with more attention usually being directed to those that are ill, the majority of caregivers get mental breakdowns, fatigue and at times withdrawal symptoms since they do not have anyone taking care of them. My mission is to address how to identify the signs and symptoms of these withdrawal issues as a caregiver so as also to seek help and be able to take care of their loved ones.
